Great Game: Picture Scavenger Hunt

Saturday we had a lovely picnic lunch at the aforementioned Arboretum with some good friends. Our friends were running late and our girls were restless and hungry. So I sent them and their Daddy on a digital picture scavenger hunt. We visit the gardens frequently throughout the year so I knew where to send them. I gave them an item to photograph and then they ran back begging for another item. This helped pass the time and I could set up our picnic in relative peace. Above are two examples of items they had to photograph. Lulu is our budding photographer and love being able to take the pictures.

My kids love to do this!! When we get together with the families we camp with, we do it all the time. When we camped two weeks ago, we changed it around a bit and had the kids go take pictures of whatever they wanted and then the adults had to walk around the campground with the camera and find the spots where they took all the different pictures.

This is a neat idea. Of course, Anna cannot handle the camera yet, but it will be fun to try when she is a little older, Isn't it great about digital photography - you don't have to worry about the cost of the film!

I bet they had a blast with this. When mine were little they loved scavenger hunts.

I love photo scavenger hunts. I want to try one at a museum some time. Make a pre-trip there and take lots of pictures and have them find the same item.
